The Scissortail Goby is a captivating saltwater fish celebrated for its elegant forked tail and vibrant coloration. This small, active goby thrives in established marine aquariums with stable water parameters and plenty of rockwork for shelter and exploration. Known for their peaceful demeanor and entertaining behavior, they make excellent reef-safe additions to community tanks. They prefer stable salinity, pH between 8.1–8.3, and temperatures of 72–78°F. Feed a varied diet of small marine pellets, frozen mysis shrimp, and copepods to support their natural grazing habits. A minimum 30-gallon tank is recommended to provide adequate swimming space and territory. Hardy and adaptable, the Scissortail Goby is perfect for both intermediate and experienced aquarists seeking an engaging, low-maintenance fish that brings dynamic movement and charm to any saltwater setup.
